The new Javete Health Annex, which began operating today, occupies the renovated premises of an old disused primary school. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the President of the Board of Directors of the Alto Alentejo Local Health Unit, EPE, Joaquim Araújo, the President of the Crato City Council, Joaquim Diogo, and the President of the Regional Coordination and Development Committee (CCDR) of Alentejo, Dr. Cia da Silva. This project was funded through the Alentejo 2020 Operational Program and aims to improve access to health care in the region.
The new extension is the result of work to rehabilitate the infrastructure of a former primary school building, which was out of service. This transformation was made possible thanks to funding from the Alentejo 2020 Operational Program, which aims to promote regional development by supporting strategic projects such as this one.
During the ceremony, Joaquim Araújo highlighted the positive impact that the new health extension will have on the accessibility and quality of health services for the population of Javete and the surrounding areas. In turn, Joaquim Diogo praised the collaboration between the various stakeholders, highlighting that the reuse of a historic building for public health purposes is an example of how local heritage can be revitalized to serve the community.
The new Gáfete Health Extension is now equipped to offer a full range of primary health care services, providing better care conditions and a more welcoming environment for users. This project is another important step in improving the health network in the municipality of Crato, contributing to the well-being and quality of life of its inhabitants.
