uA study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders revealed that eating a lot of “junk food” can have implications for your mental health. The problem is that this type of food contains highly processed foods.
“Participants who ate more ultra-processed foods were more likely to suffer from a psychological problem,” the study authors revealed. More than 23,000 adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17 were investigated.

They continued: “A higher intake of ultra-processed foods was associated with increased subsequent psychological distress, as an indicator of depression.” They explained that those who ate in this way had a 14% higher chance of developing a mental illness.
They reveal that depression was the most common condition during the study.
