The Portuguese Football Federation reported on Monday that Fabio Carvalho has given up representing the Portuguese under-21 team. The young Liverpool player has been called up by Rui Jorge for special matches with the Czech Republic and Japan, in preparation for the European Championship in the category.
“The footballer has decided to abdicate from representing the Portuguese national under-21 team. Fabio Carvalho has informed the Portuguese Football Federation, via some SMS, that he does not intend to continue to represent Portugal at the under-21 level.
