Many rumors confirm that Samsung will once again put its processors at the forefront of the Samsung Galaxy S24 phones. At stake will be the Exynos 2400, the next generation SoC designed by South Korea itself.
Thanks to the Chinese page of the AnTuTu platform, we got to know the first technical details of the future Exynos 2400 processor, which is the first technical look at the revival of Exynos components at the top of the South Korean company’s group.
The Exynos 2400 will have 10 CPU cores and will power the Samsung Galaxy S24
The first technical information that points to the upcoming Exynos 2400 refers to a processor with a total of 10 cores. Strictly speaking, this configuration would have 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 cores. In comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 should only have 8 cores.
The most powerful core in this processor will be Cortex-X4 running at 3.1GHz, then we have a pair of Cortex-A720 cores at 2.9GHz.
The remaining technical configuration of the Exynos 2400 will have three Cortex-A720 cores running at 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A520 cores running at 1.8GHz, and it is important to note that all cores will be based on ARMv9 technology.
Looking now at the graphics department of the Exynos 2400, everything points to the presence of the Xclipse 940. Obviously, this device will repeat the configuration of its predecessor and will contain AMD’s RDNA 2 technology.
This means that the new Xclipse 940 will have six dual processor clusters, which translates to a total of 12 GPU cores. Even though it has twice the graphics cores of the Exynos 2200, is that enough to deliver twice the performance?
It is also important to note that the Exynos 2400 will support LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. In the photography section, a new ISP will be implemented with support for lenses up to 320MP resolution and 8K video recording at 60fps.
Looking at the data that has been revealed, the question arises whether it will be at least enough to match the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. A doubt that will surely haunt the markets covered by the Exynos 2400 version of the Samsung Galaxy S24. .
