Viktor Shokin, the former attorney general of Ukraine, has accused Joe Biden of bribing Ukrainian officials with millions of dollars to block an investigation into Burisma, the Ukrainian gas company where his son Hunter Biden worked. The former Public Prosecutor also confirmed that there were attempts on his life. “I have no doubt that there are illegal activities carried out by Burisma,” he said in an interview with “Fox News”.
Shokin was a member of Poroshenko’s government, where he served as prosecutor general between 2015 and 2016, which preceded Zelensky, and he was reportedly dismissed from his position over his investigation of corruption cases at Burisma. Hunter Biden joined Burisma as an attorney in 2013, before becoming a member of the Board of Directors from 2014 through 2019.
During that period, Hunter and his business partner Devon Archer, who was also named a member of Burisma’s board of directors, allegedly received millions of dollars from a corrupt Ukrainian oligarch for their work at the company.
“If I had continued to oversee the Burisma investigation, we would have discovered the facts about the corrupt activities they were involved in,” Shokin said. Among them are Hunter Biden, Devon Archer and others.”
The former Ukrainian official also confirmed that he had already been subjected to assassination attempts against the background of his investigations into allegations of corruption. “The damage has already been done. I have long worried about my personal safety and security. Technically, I have died twice already, poisoned by mercury.”
And the White House has already responded to the accusations: White House spokesman Ian Sams dismissed Schocken’s claims and asserted that “for years, these false allegations have been debunked, and no matter how much time Fox gives them, they will remain false.”
