The first quarter of the cultural program in Guimarães includes two festivals. From February 1 to 10, the 13th edition of GUidance will be held.
“This year’s maps offer us the possibility of experiencing surprising and revealing worlds from distant contexts, at the same time they bring us closer in a qualified way to works that seek to give a new meaning to the present so that we can gain the future of the path,” reveals Rui Turinha, director of the workshop.
There will be ten shows, focusing on two premieres from Taiwan, “Beings Shimmering Production” and “Bulabulay mun?” by Timor Dance Theater, “UniVerse: A dark crystal odyssey” by Wayne McGregor, and “Batu” by Wayne McGregor. Victor Hugo Pontes.
Between April 10 and 13, it's time for Westway LAB. In this eleventh session, the festival will seek to move in a broader field, which is linking music and cinema.
In the field of visual arts, the “Terra Narrow” exhibition opens on February 24 at CIAJG, a gathering of contemporary artists from the Middle East. The exhibition is a look at issues of land, identity and freedom.
The first programming cycle of this year's workshop ends on April 25 with the celebration of the eighth anniversary of Casa da Memória.
