On Monday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces revealed the discovery of spy devices in the office of its commander, Valery Zalozny, as well as other senior military officials.
“Yesterday, during a routine inspection of the premises, information recording equipment was discovered. Eavesdropping devices were installed in the offices designated for the work of the Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and his office staff,” the General Staff – Gen. Ukraine on Facebook, citing the Washington Post, which decided to open an investigation into the incident.
The identity of who developed the exploits, nor the conversations that were overheard, were not revealed.
Zaluzhny responded to RBC Ukraine, stating that the bug was found “in one of the places” where he usually works and where he should be on Monday. “I haven’t been there for a long time,” he added. Zalozny said he had previously worked in the room where the device was found, but the period between then and today was “significant.” “Maybe they were preparing for a meeting [que iria ter]”.
