Acquired by Apple in March 2020Tomorrow, Dark Sky will have another page in its journey to the graveyard of apps that succeeded and ended up being bought by giants to absorb jobs.
According to information disclosed on the official website, users who still have the app installed on their iDevices will not be able to access the features of the weather forecast app, while the related API should be shut down in a few more months, with the scheduled date of burial on the 31st. March 2023.
While the news seems disappointing, all is not lost for those who enjoyed the Dark Sky features. According to Apple, the information provided in the app has been merged into the “Tempo” app available in the App Store for users with a device running iOS 16, iPadOS 16, or macOS 13 Ventura.
