A new investigation is underway in the town in southern France where two-and-a-half-year-old Emile was last seen.
After Emil’s disappearance, at the beginning of July of this year, investigations resumed on Tuesday and will continue throughout the week. Searches are being conducted with the help of specialized dogs and drones.
The authorities’ focus today was on a neighbor’s home located two kilometers from the boy’s family home in Haute-Vernet.
according to BFMTV, the house belonged to a young 16-year-old farmer who owned land near Haute Vernet. According to witnesses from the village, the man presented a suspicious file, in addition to that he has a record and is already known to the French police.
However, there is no information from the authorities about any arrest or confiscation.
The disappearance of two-and-a-half-year-old Emil on July 8 remains a mystery. In early July, when Emil disappeared, it was harvest time and agricultural machinery was being used in the fields, where the boy was last seen.
After a week of searches, authorities declared the case inconclusive and the boy’s whereabouts remained uncertain.
Recently, in early September, French police returned to Haute-Vernet. A suspicious spot detected by geo-radar on the balcony of a private house caught the attention of the authorities. But after analysis, it turned out to be just a layer of plaster.
About a month later, French authorities returned to the Alpine village, but so far there are no signs of little Emile.
