The Regional Department of the Centro da Ordem dos Médicos and the Portuguese Telemedicine Society will sign, next Monday 14 June, a protocol of cooperation in the field of digital health and digital transformation in health, telehealth and telemedicine, for the activities to be developed in the center region.
Carlos Cortes, President of the Regional Council of the Centro da Ordem dos Médicos, and Eduardo Castilla, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Portuguese Telemedicine Association, will sign this protocol, at 12:00 noon, at the headquarters of the Ordem dos Médicos do Centro, in Coimbra.
According to SRCOM, “The covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the use of information and communication technologies in the health sector, but these tools have been used for decades by telemedicine, and now they have been revitalized and enhanced in the face of the pressure of the pandemic context created by health systems.”
Telemedicine is a strong ally of health professionals, but above all, patients look to SRCOM in a press release as they affirm that “the Portuguese Telemedicine Association and the Medical Syndicate of the Center are taking another step in exchanging specialized knowledge as well. As well as telemedicine technologies and tools” .
This protocol aims to promote and establish forms of partnership and cooperation activities between the two entities with the aim of exchanging knowledge and good practices in the field of telemedicine, through conferences in the field of health, technical and scientific consultations and project awareness in the field of digital health literacy.
With this tool it is also intended to organize joint activities and, among other initiatives, to organize events in a mixed form (in person and flow) or just flow.
