ADSE (Directorate General for Social Protection of Public Service Personnel) is a health sub-system that allows beneficiaries to access healthcare institutions and services integrated into the National Health Service. ADSE recipients are entitled to share the cost of health care obtained from non-agreed private providers, in the free system. The most practical way to request payment for services provided free of charge is to use Direct ADSEthe online service available to ADSE recipients.

How to access ADSE Directa?
Enter your access data. You can enter your beneficiary number and the access password you selected earlier and click “Enter”. But if you don’t have a password, you’re not a beneficiary, or you’d prefer access using your tax identification number or citizen card, select the “I don’t have an ADSE password” option.
After logging in, click “Submit documents for payment”, create a new process, enter the service invoice data, and scan the original documents. Next, send the following documents to the address indicated on the operation cover: proof of payment; a prescription, if requested; Other specific supplementary documents, where applicable.
All documents must contain the name, VAT number and ADSE beneficiary number.
When do you request a refund?
Reimbursement must be requested within six months of the health care related occurrence.

What other services are available?
Through the same online service, beneficiaries can consult all health care provided in the contracting entities, deductions granted to the ADSE, and make a declaration for the purposes of the IRS.
ADSE reimburses up to 80% of the total amount of expenses with the health service. However, there is a maximum limit set by law.
