Devolver Digital, one of the most popular indie game publishers, shared in its latest financial report that it has chosen to make less money and not put games on subscription services.
According to a statement to investors, revenues decreased by 17% in the first half of 2023, compared to the first half of 2022, and part of this will be related to the lower number of launches.
The report also says that a decline in revenue from subscription services also explains part of the decline in revenue.
Devolver Digital has informed investors that it has rejected several offers because it believes they do not value the value of several securities and revenue opportunities for 2023 and 2024.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen information or comments about indie creators starting to turn down service deals because they believe they’re not receiving an offer that seriously values their games.
