Desire says she discovered her love of nutrition in 2001, while studying sports at the University of São Paulo (SP). In 2005, she started her Master's degree in Physical Education at the University of the South Pacific and enrolled in the Faculty of Nutrition at Centro Universitário São Camilo. During this period, he specialized in Ambolim, the eating disorders program at the University of the South Pacific Institute of Psychiatry. There he learned about the harms of restrictive diets.
In 2010, he began his doctoral studies at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of the South Pacific. Part of it was conducted in Paris, France, at the Laboratory of Nutritional Physiology and Nutritional Behavior of AgroParisTech/INRA (National Institute for Agricultural Research).
Desire also helped shape the first class of USP's Sports Nutrition Specialization course, for which she was co-coordinator and instructor until 2014. While she was working on changing habits, she felt the need to further study psychology, and more specifically behavior analysis.
