Cristobal Martell abandoned the player’s defense
Cristobal Martell, the lawyer who defended Dani Alves, decided to abandon the case, according to what Carlos Quiles said on the Yahora Sonsoles program (Antena 3), which constitutes another setback for the Brazilian player. In view of this, his brother left him a message on social media.
“Never stop believing in God, even when everything around you seems to be falling apart. Keep praying. God opens the way for those who do not give up in the midst of adversity,” Nay Alves posted on social media.
According to the same source, Dani Alves will now be defended by Enes Guardiola.
On July 31, Daniel Alves was formally charged with the alleged sexual assault of a 23-year-old girl during the night of December 31, 2022, at a nightclub in Barcelona, Spain. The 40-year-old Brazilian footballer, who has been detained since January, will stand trial after the judge in charge of the case deemed there was sufficient evidence that there had been a sexual assault that night.
In addition to appearing before the judge, Dani Alves will also have to compensate the victim, if convicted, in the amount of 150,000 euros for the moral and psychological damage he caused.
