Some Apple customers who purchased the iPhone 15 Pro Max in the UK have complained on the brand’s official forum after receiving incorrect orders. In these packages, some models such as the iPhone 14 Pro Max have been discovered before purchase, and in some extreme cases, even fake iPhones running Android.
Consumers say they are reluctant to offer Apple a replacement or refund, saying the delivery details were correct and therefore the order was delivered correctly. The company has been criticized for its chat service, accused of fraud on the part of customers rather than being recognized as victims of a scam.
A problem codenamed chris-j-88 was filed by a disgruntled customer with official customer service. He decided to contact Apple CEO Tim Cook directly via email. Following his complaint, a representative from Apple’s European office contacted him, reviewed the case and confirmed that the faulty device had been replaced, which was delivered the next day.
“An Apple rep told me it’s impossible to put the 14 in by mistake, so it must have been replaced after shipping,” the user said. “My concern is that they contacted the shipping company and said that no one on their side touched this, so Apple decides that I am responsible for the attempted fraud.”
It is still unknown where the errors came from, and the delivery process is in doubt. The complaints raise questions about the integrity of Apple’s distribution system in the UK.
