Captain of the Selection leaves a wide message in the way of balance on social networks

“Winning the World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career. Fortunately, I won many titles of international dimension, including Portugal, but putting our country’s name at the highest level in the world was my biggest dream.
I fought for it. I fought so hard for this dream. In the five World Cups I’ve scored in over the course of 16 years, always alongside great players and supported by millions of Portuguese, I’ve given my best. I left everything in the field. I never turned my face to fight and I never gave up on that dream.
Unfortunately, the dream ended yesterday. It doesn’t deserve a hot response. I just want everyone to know that much has been said, much written, and much speculated, but my devotion to Portugal has not changed for a moment. I was always another person fighting for everyone’s goal and would never turn my back on my team mates and my country.
For now, there isn’t much to say. Thank you, Portugal. Thank you, Qatar. The dream was beautiful while it lasted… Now, it’s time to be a good counselor and let each one draw their own conclusions.”
