Among the Brazilian states, Ceará ranks 17th in terms of exports and 15th in terms of imports.

The main imported products were from the “mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation” segment, with an emphasis on suppliers from the United States.
São Gonçalo do Amarante accounted for 21.6% of the state’s imports, with a decrease of 54.2% and total purchases of US$282.20 million. The municipality also had mineral fuels as a major requirement, especially from the United States.
