Carretinha da Saúde, an initiative of the State Ministry of Health (Sesapi) in partnership with the Piauí Children’s Pact, will start next Monday (21) services in the municipality of Gilbués, in the southern region of the state.
The mobile unit will also assist children in the cities of Barreras and São Gonçalo de Gorgoía. Forecasts indicate that around 400 dental, speech therapy and ophthalmological consultations will take place until August 30.
“It is important that parents or guardians seek basic health units for referral and access to services offered by Carretinha da Saúde, in order to ensure better health for our children,” highlights Leila Santos, Supervisor of Primary Health Care and Municipalities in Sesapi .
The target audience for Carretinha da Saúde are children from 0 to 6 years old. In addition to specialized care, the vaccination handbook will also be updated in order to expand the immunization of children in Piauí.
In the northern region, Carretinha da Saúde continues to provide services in the city of Parnaiba. According to the schedule, the unit will start taking care of approximately 150 children in the municipality of Ilha Grande on Monday (21). “The municipality will transfer the children to Barnaiba, with a guarantee of service,” the superintendent reported.
