The King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s visit to York was marked by a moment of great tension, after eggs were thrown at the monarchs in protest.
However, as evidenced by the international press, the couple were not let down by what happened and continued to greet the people who had gathered at the place to receive them.
Among these people was a five-year-old boy who, although suffering from serious vision problems, really wanted to meet Carlos and Camila.
Knowing that he would not be able to meet the King and Queen in the crowd, he wrote a letter to the Council of York, who spoke to Buckingham Palace – making his dream a reality.
Pictures posted by York City Council on social media show the boy holding Carlos and Camilla’s hand and their visual happiness.
Followers praised this moment.
We were so happy to help our young resident, Jason, who has a visual impairment, meet the King and Queen during today’s royal visit. Jason said he felt “calm, happy and excited” and held their hand. pic.twitter.com/OgQzCVKs7i
