the Mariah Carey’s mother, Patricia, and sister, Allison, died on the same day over the weekend, the singer confirmed to People magazine.
“My heart is broken after losing my mother last weekend. Unfortunately, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.”The 55-year-old artist said.
“I feel so happy that I was able to spend the last week with my mother before she passed away.”“I appreciate everyone’s love, support and respect for my privacy during this unimaginable time,” he added.
Details about the deaths, including the causes, have not been released.
Patricia Carey was an opera singer and studied at the Juilliard School, one of the most prestigious schools for music and acting. He was 87. Allison, 63, was the eldest daughter of Patricia and Alfred Carey and the older sister of Maria and Morgan Carey.
