According to the British newspaper Sunday Times, King Charles III of the United Kingdom estimates personal wealth 600 million poundsEquivalent BRL 3.6 billion Priced this Monday (17). Almost double the amount claimed for his mother, Queen Elizabeth II 370 million pounds.
The Sunday Times Rich List was assessed this weekend ahead of the coronation of the new British monarch. According to advisers interviewed by the newspaper, after the billionaire’s divorce from Princess Diana in the early 1990s, Charles diligently saved profits from the Duchy of Cornwall.
Besides Queen Elizabeth II, Charles has more wealth than David and Victoria Beckham and Elton John. However, the king is not among the country’s 250 richest people, and is behind famous names such as Paul McCartney (£865m) and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (£730m).
Leading the list of the richest are Indians (residents of the United Kingdom) Sri and Gopi Hinduja, with assets of around £28 billion.
Forbes ranking
In November last year, Forbes magazine published different numbers (because it has a different method of calculating fortune).
According to the magazine, the monarch inherited £500,000 from her mother and in addition to managing a billionaire estate: 42 billion in assets including investments, palaces, properties, jewelery and works of art.
In addition to the inherited wealth, the magazine also highlights that the king was able to earn his own. He had about £27 million in annual receipts from the county of Cornwall. He also owned the UK’s largest organic food brand and B&Bs in nature hideaways, the publication said.
Palaces and gardens are the most valuable property of the king. These are worth £17.5 billion. Among them is one of the largest shopping streets in London and, according to Forbes, “the entire coastline of the United Kingdom”.
