Brazilian chef Cristina Maia, a contestant on “MatterChef: The Professionals” from the United Kingdom, had a panic attack while mixing hot soup in a blender and the appliance exploded.
As a result, the broth splashed on her face, causing burns and her elimination from the show. According to English newspaper The Sun, it is not yet known if the chef’s departure was temporary or if she was kicked out of the competition.
Christina Mia was making soup when she opened the blender and the food exploded in her face. The matter resonated with X earlier on Twitter when it was shown on the agenda.
“The blender blew up! I hope she’s okay!” wrote one viewer on the social network. “That looks like it really hurt. I feel sorry for her,” said another.
According to The Sun, chef Monica Galetti regretted what happened: “I was really looking forward to her food.”
Christina Mia, known in the gastronomic world as La Chefette, trained in London and was inspired by Brazilian and Portuguese flavors. The chef’s official website says he has “been selected for royal weddings, worked in Michelin-starred kitchens and created dishes for large private events in many of London’s most prestigious venues, but what he loves most is creating and sharing a menu that reflects freshness, season and location.”
