FHello On May 5th, Wen, a Xiaomi customer, took delivery of his SU7, the first 100% electric car from the Chinese manufacturer. The driver drove 39 kilometers, until he had to stop after a message appeared on the car’s dashboard.
“The vehicle is about to stop, please stop the vehicle safely and contact the online service center,” appeared first, and then the message changed.
“The drive system has a problem and cannot be changed,” he said, noting that it was not possible to switch between the D and R transmissions, according to InsideEVs.
Xiaomi ended up taking the car to a technical center in Xiang’an, but admitted that it was unable to discover what led to the error. But what is worse is the inability to repair the electric car after a deeper analysis.
Despite the unfortunate incident, the customer continued to want a Xiaomi SU7 and requested a new car in lieu of a refund. But he faced the huge demand that existed for this model. Each unit produced already has an owner and a specific delivery date.
Considering this scenario, Xiaomi negotiates a refund as well as compensation for all costs incurred by the customer.
