British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is being criticized (and joked) on social media after he was “caught” having some trouble opening an umbrella.
The government official was present this Wednesday at a ceremony honoring the UK police who lost their lives while on duty, accompanied by Prince Charles and Home Secretary Priti Patel.
But just before the memorial to the victims was unveiled, it started raining and the minister was unable to control the canopy.
Despite the seriousness of the event, laughter was inevitable, and there were many people who criticized the minister’s position on social media.
One Twitter user said: “Laughing and making the event about it…totally inappropriate.” Another joked: “A nice way to pay respects to all the cops who died.”
Already on Tuesday, pictures of Boris Johnson fighting with a parachute appeared on social media. One netizen said: “Someone is teaching a course on how to open a parachute. Two days in a row…”.
