Many people were surprised by a loud explosion, Sunday, after a plane followed by F-16 fighters crashed in the United States.
A plane crashed Sunday in southwest Virginia, USA, creating a loud bang that was felt throughout the greater Washington, D.C. area with four people on board.
An official US government source revealed that F-16 fighters had been mobilized to follow the plane, but it did not explain the reasons for this. He just ensures that he is not killed by them.
The fact is that until now it has not been established whether it was a violation of airspace or an emergency situation on board the aircraft, which led to the intervention of the fighters.
“We are aware of reports across the National Capital Region of a significant boom this afternoon,” reads the D.C. Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Twitter feed. It has been recorded and posted by many netizens on social networks.

The FAA earlier confirmed in a statement that the Cessna Citation crashed in southwest Virginia on Sunday. According to the government agency, the plane, which took off from Elizabethton Municipal Airport, Tennessee, was bound for MacArthur Airport on Long Island in New York. But it fell in a mountainous and “poorly populated” area.
The Office of Emergency Management in Annapolis, Maryland claims the sound was “caused by an authorized flight” by the US Department of Defense, surprising many people with the noise it made.
