Family and friends of contestants on TVI’s “Big Brother” are outraged over the proliferation of supposed support groups on social media that collect money that is allegedly used to buy votes and ensure they stay in the house, but is actually a Ponzi scheme.
It only takes a short visit to social media to realize that each competitor has several support groups. Some of them are actually run by family members of the candidates, but the majority are fake and use the names of the candidates only to extort money from their fans.
According to TV 7 Dias magazine, there are cases of people investing sums ranging from 200 to 500 euros to save some competitors from eviction, but the money was never used for this purpose. There were those who donated money to send planes or gifts, which also did not reach their destination. Fake account administrators send proof of voting, but allegedly always use the same document. There are dozens of complaints on social media warning of fraud.
