Two prizes for one month. Simon Panza was named Best Striker and Player of the Month for August, thanks to five goals in four matches – he scored against Sporting, Famalicao (two goals), Maritimo and Aruca.
The 26-year-old Frenchman picked up the trophies at the local Braga stadium and promised to continue the same ambition.
Estádio Municipal de Braga, the 26-year-old athlete confirmed his satisfaction with these being the first trophies that Portugal have won, and highlighted the ambition to continue scoring and to continue the good moment for Arsenalista.
“I am very happy. I would like to thank everyone who voted for me, my teammates, my coach, the president, the fans and all the members of SC Braga. These are my first awards here in Portugal and therefore I am very proud of them. To be player of the month, the Frenchman received 34.72% of the league coaches’ vote, ahead of Benfica’s players: Joao Mario who added 13.89%, and Enzo Fernandez who was his pick with 9.72%.
At the beginning of the month, he beat Goncalo Ramos (Benfica) with 17.36% and Aziz (Rio Ave) with 14.58% of the vote.
