By defeating North Macedonia (2-0), Portugal reached the 2022 World Cup finals and go to the fourth continental competition led by Fernando Santos. A feat that puts the 67-year-old coach in a special place in the history of the national team.
No coach has ever taken a corner team to so many finals in Intercontinental competitions. Closer only Luiz Felipe Scolari, with three, and for one of them did not need to qualify.
Remember that the Brazilian coach led Portugal at Euro 2004 (organized by our country), at the 2006 World Cup and finished his corner team phase after the 2008 European Championship.
