With Portuguese Kevin Rodriguez on the bench (as well as Cape Verdean Pepe), Rayo Vallecano sweated to score at Real Sociedad (1-1).
The guests were sharper from the first minute of play, and Porto was the most dangerous player, scoring four shots with the goals stamped in the first 13 minutes. So it is not surprising that in the 33rd minute, Real Sociedad opened the scoring, via Alexander Sorloth, having faced several opponents, giving Stole Dimitrievski no chance. The own goal awakened the host team, who, until the end of the first half, created some goal situations.
In the second stage, the Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper collected a few points, setting the tone for his teammates, who grew up and started playing close to Real Sociedad’s goal. The 77th minute will determine the match: Issei Balazon gave way to Radamel Falcao, and the first time the former Porto player touched the ball, he scored a goal.
It should be noted that with another point grab, Rayo Vallecano’s total is now 41, finds himself in 11th place and practically guarantees maintenance. Real Sociedad has 56 and may be late in the fight for the fourth place, which would give it access to the Champions League.
