Luciano Gonçalves, president of the Portuguese Football Referees Association, took to social media to denounce the various attacks on refereeing officials over the weekend.
“A black weekend for football and refereeing,” says Luciano Gonçalves, adding: “We are all careless and one day we will all get our hands dirty.”
Here are the statuses shared by the APAF chief on Facebook:
«- Thiago Cardoso Silva, the representative of Arsenal 72 DC from AF Lisbon who attacked the match referee, fortunately he was arrested soon and will be present in court tomorrow morning;
– Miguel Angelo Costa de Silvis of AF Algarve The coward attacked the referee.
– Diogo Miguel Soares, player of Atletico Pofuense from AF Lisbon, violently attacked the referee in the head.
– A demented fan of Romarez from Aveiro attacked the assistant referee with a stone.
– Marcos Antonio Santos Duarte, a player from CR Chãs from AF Leiria, cowardly attacks the referee in a futsal match;
– A Salgueros fan from Porto entered the stadium, grabbed the referee’s equipment and tried to attack the young referee in an under-15 match;
