Benfica have announced that Team B will be handed over from Wednesday to Antonio Oliveira. The contract is valid until the end of the current season. The new coach of Team B was a player in Benfica, the club that became the junior champion, and it was already in 2012/13 that he began his coaching career, first as an assistant and in 2020 as a manager.

Antonio Oliveira, 39, was educated in the club’s schools, where he spent a decade and became a junior national champion. He started his coaching career in 2012/13, having already faced many challenges in Portugal and abroad, focusing in particular on the leadership that he practiced, in Brazil, in the U-23 teams of Santos and Atlético Paranaense. Either way, he worked with athletes who later made their way to the top teams.
In Brazil, Antonio Oliveira became the coach of Atlético Paranaense, at the time the team reached the final of the Copa del Rey and the Copa del Rey, which it would later win. From today onwards, he will have the task of leading the top level squad for Sport Lisboa e Benfica until the end of this season.
