The Google Pixel 9 phone is scheduled to be announced in 2024 with new features that include artificial intelligence, one of which was discovered by analyst Mishal Rahman. According to him, the new cell phone from Google should have a screen with adaptive touch sensitivity. Understand now what this means.
Rahman says he found the new feature in Android 14 QPR3 Beta 1, but can't activate it yet. However, a description and image of the configuration screen were found. It is described that “Adaptive Touch” allows the display to adjust the sensor that detects touches according to the environment, running applications, and activities.
However, the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 1 also mentions that “Adaptive Touch” is a “P24” feature, which means it will be available for Google mobiles launching in 2024. The same happened with the 2023 Pixel 8 line, where Features in Android 13 Beta are listed as “P23”.
It is worth noting that this new feature may not be exclusive to the Pixel 9, as Google usually releases some functions for older devices through Pixel Features Drop updates. The only hurdle will be whether the Adaptive Touch feature requires a special sensor for the smartphone's display.
