Zuckerberg vs. Musk. The fight between the tech moguls will not only be on the physical level — the two entrepreneurs have agreed to a cage fight in Las Vegas, still without a date — but also on the virtual plane: the Meta founder will fire Thursday. His new social network Thread, which aims to compete with Twitter and attract those who are disillusioned with this platform, which underwent a series of changes after its purchase by the CEO of Tesla.
Instagram’s new text-based chat app, as seen on Apple’s App Store — where it can already be found in the US — will be available from July 6. The introduction to the platform makes it clear Threads is where communities come together to have a variety of discussions, from the topics that matter to you today to the ones that will be trending in the future. Whatever your interests, you can follow and connect with your favorite creators and other like-minded people, or build a fan base. Sincerely to share your thoughts, opinions and creativity with the world.”.
At the moment it is known that the design of the new social network will be similar to that of other microblogging applications, such as Twitter, where it is possible to post a message, like, repost and share, among other things. By creating an account, users will be able to start following the same accounts they follow on Instagram. In this way, Themes will be able to work with a large user base.
In short, the threads aim to be the alternative to the dying Twitter, which, after being bought by Elon Musk for $44 billion, underwent a series of changes that did not satisfy its users, such as the decision to reduce censorship of hate messages and fake news, pay for verification marks, and limit certain content to Twitter Blue users only, and most recently, the limit on the number of daily messages people can read on the platform.
