The process takes place directly in the Play Store, in the “Manage applications and devices” menu. When selecting an application, where today only the option to delete is seen, there is also an alternative to archiving. From 32 MB, the application size shrinks to 1.4 MB after archiving it. On the main screen, Google News remains visible, with a cloud above the icon, indicating the change made. When the app is reactivated, it resumes with all previous customizations, such as login, language and selected websites.

It is worth noting that it is not yet known which Android versions will receive the news.
