Android 14 has a bunch of new features in terms of content customization, which will give users more control over the way they want their devices to behave and configure.
With that in mind, Google has now revealed a bunch of new customization features for the system, which should allow users more control over their device’s features right from Android.
For starters, the company has revealed that it will soon be possible to create custom background images based on the Material You format. This new tool allows users to choose a set of emojis that will then be used to create a unique and interactive wallpaper. Users can choose up to 14 different emojis, which will be combined to create a final interactive image, which can be used in the system as a background image.
For those who want something more personalized, there is also a new ‘cinematic’ mode, which allows users to use images and, through neural networks, enhance content with animations.
For example, a face shot can move when users tilt their device, giving content more depth – rather than just using still images.
These two new features should start arriving on Pixel line devices within the next month.
Finally, towards the end of the year, Google still hopes to integrate a wallpaper creator directly into Android 14. This will use the company’s artificial intelligence to automatically create unique images for users, based on a wide variety of themes.
Users will be able to choose the theme they want to use to create the images, or choose from options created for this purpose. Of course, the system will automatically adapt the background image colors as part of Material You.
