Since the early days of Android, Google decided to name desserts for different versions of it. Although this trend has stopped since Android 10, internally, the names still apply to its development.
Last year, Android 13 was internally known as “Tiramisu”, and now some data seems to already be referring to the name of the next version of Android 14, which is something different than usual.
According to recent changes in the Android AOSP code, the Android 14 version may be known by the code name “Upside Down Cake”, which literally translates to “Upside Down Cake”.
According to the gate XDA DevelopersRecent changes to the Android source code suggest that the new name may be the future version of the operating system, which should be released within the next year as an acronym for Android U.
Even if the name is something unusual, it is also important to remember that choosing a name for each version of Android can get complicated, especially when there are not many names with different alphabets, this is clearly an example with the initial letter “U” .
While there is an idea of the possible name, it is still unknown what news will be incorporated into this version, but there is still plenty of time for the system to be released – and more details should certainly be revealed over time.
