“Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”, but it looks like the sun has set on one of the biggest names in British music. Elton John performed his last UK concert at the iconic venue this Sunday South West England Music Festival in Glastonbury.
Elton John captivated a huge crowd with a stage show of music and artistry, a two-hour show where every song was a huge hit.
About 120,000 people were in the audience. As stated therein BBC7.3 million people tuned in to watch it live BBC One.
According to the BBC, it was the highest prime-time audience for a Glastonbury show. Compared to last year’s edition, Diana Ross was the most watched artist with 3.1 million viewers, and Paul McCartney was watched by 2.7 million viewers.

The show opened just after 9pm with Pinball Wizard, a song that hadn’t been played in over 10 years, followed by a roaring rendition of The Pitch is Back.
“I’m so happy to be here, I’ll never forget this,” said the artist, wearing a gold robe and pink glasses, during the performance.
The artist received four guests at various stages of his performance: singers Jacob Lusk, Stephen Sanchez and Rina Sawayama; and Brandon Flowers of the rock band The Killers, with whom he performed to an enthusiastic crowd as John Tiny Dancer.
Elton John, 76, is coming to the end of his last tour. Glastonbury is the last show on British soil.
“It’s a very special and emotional night for me, it might be my last show in England and England,” the artist said.
The singer thanked his fans “52 years of incredible love and loyalty. It’s been an amazing journey and I’ve had so much fun..
