It was around 8 p.m. when judicial police inspectors entered the Puerto Alto Vistas area, accompanied by National Guard soldiers, with the aim of arresting singer Miguel Bravo.
The artist was in the dressing rooms, and there the PJ ordered his arrest, thus preventing him from performing in the concerts that will be held until next Monday, in the municipality of Benavente.
A police source confirmed to NS that the arrest of the singer, who is from a parish in Évora, is linked to frauds he carried out with different party committees and show organizations, where he received money in exchange for indicating his presence, but he did not show up nor return the money to the organizations.
The amount of fraud may reach thousands of euros, but some organizations have not filed a complaint, which means that the full amount has not yet been determined.
Another crime that led to Miguel Bravo’s arrest concerns alleged sexual assault of minors in which the singer may have been involved, in an investigation conducted by the PJ for several months.
The Porto Alto Festival Committee was surprised by the arrest of the singer, who had scheduled his concert for midnight, and said in a statement on social media that “due to the arrest of the artist Miguel Bravo in the dressing room of our concert, the artist Miguel Bravo was arrested in the dressing room of our concert. The Porto Alto Festival Committee announces that the show scheduled for tonight will not take place,” after replacing the concert with a bullfight.
The controversy with Miguel Bravo is long-standing, as the artist is often announced in different places and with a slight difference in time, or at the same time.
This Saturday, when he was arrested, Miguel Bravo announced concerts in Porto Alto, at midnight, in Serdal (Valenca) at 1 a.m., and in Ados Negros (Obidos) at 2 a.m.
Recently, the singer was absent from the region from attending the Santos Populares celebrations in Santarém, where he performed concerts in the Porto area.
The singer is scheduled to appear before the investigating judge next Monday to learn about the crimes he will be charged with and the coercive measures that will be applied to him.
