a Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB) wants to force the federal government to adopt the mandatory monkeypox vaccination.
Federal Representative Yisrael Batista (PSB-DF) filed an allegation of non-compliance with a fundamental principle (ADPF), with a request for an injunction, in the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Thursday the 11th.
The measure requires the Federation and the United States to develop a “practical and effective” national plan to combat the epidemic, and to set a schedule for vaccination of vulnerable groups and the population in general.
The request also includes an injunction to allow states to implement measures they deem necessary to control the disease.
“It can be seen that only with the possibility of the federal entities working simultaneously on pollution control, as well as on the system of application of the vaccine, can a gradual improvement be seen in the state of public health in Brazil,” he justifies, referring to the coronavirus epidemic.
The party also demands that the union refrain from promoting or disclosing treatments unauthorized by the scientific community as well as “disseminating false information about monkeypox”.
