No white smoke yet but understanding is close to finding it. TVI wants to renew the contract with Cristina Ferreira but cuts her salary in half: from €200,000 per month to just €100,000.
And as TV Guia revealed last week, Cristina is losing power and money with this new contract.
Until now, Christina was the director Entertainment and imagination, but it loses imagination, which must become the sole responsibility of Jose Eduardo Muñiz, General Manager.
In addition, she now has more authority in management, where she already was, as she begins acquiring portfolios of digital business and new talent, according to advanced news this afternoon.
Christina reportedly threatened to leave TVI, but the understanding, which was negotiated by the broadcaster’s lawyers and agents, and CEO of Media Capital, entrusted Mario Ferreira with that delicate dossier.
In addition to being one of the main faces of TVI, Christina is also a contributor, but with a reduced participation.
This would be the way for both parties to come to an agreement without anyone looking badly into the picture. Christina builds her power on the digital level but loses out on soap operas and such.
