Advertio helps small advertisers reach new customers “more effectively by automating the digital advertising process”; Everything is done using algorithms to ensure the highest possible return on investment in campaigns placed on different platforms, such as social networks or search engines. The startup was born in 2017 when CEO and co-founder Joao Arroso felt that many small advertisers were struggling with digital marketing. Together with Pedro Rodrigues, entrepreneur created Advertio with the goal of “uncomplicating the online advertising process” and “making corporate growth through digital marketing accessible to all types of users,” explains the CEO of BusinessIT.
According to João Aroso, the mission is to “help other businesses grow and shape the way they acquire their customers”; AI makes this possible by “making customer acquisition constant and predictable, not variable.” The entrepreneur asserts that in a year like 2020, “where many companies faced difficulties and had to modernize in a short period of time”, this vision became “more important”. Joao Arroso also emphasized that the company has helped “many companies continue to grow and keep their doors open.” In fact, since its inception, Advertio has run “more than five million euros” in campaigns and helped “tens of thousands of companies”.
Simplicity above all
João Aroso explains the campaign creation process: “It is very simple and takes less than three minutes. Our users just need to provide their business website, country and category they belong to and choose a campaign objective. Then, with the help of AI, we suggest the perfect text, images, audience and keywords. For that specific campaign, which users can accept or modify as they like. In the end, whatever goal is chosen, they only pay for the result.”
This model is “innovative” because “algorithms are able to predict the performance of not only customers’ business, but also how each of the online advertising platforms will operate, creating “customized suggestions for each of our customers, written in the language they prefer,” he asserts.
Grow and reach more countries
This year, the CEO says, the goal is to “continue to grow and expand the business.” The plans are clear: “To reach more markets, improve our algorithm in all supported languages (currently nine) and keep investing in qualified talent.”
The startup currently has thirty people, but it is “in a clear stage of growth and will continue to do so for the rest of the year.” In terms of internationalization, the goal is to establish their presence in the markets in which they operate, i.e. “in Europe, specifically Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria”, and “in some countries. In the Americas »where they have clients. “The next step will be expansion into other countries in Latin America and, in the future, the United States,” says João Aroso.
