US giant Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) has announced the acquisition of FDL, a UK-based company that develops flavor systems and functional ingredients.
ADM advised in a note that it intends to complete the transaction by the end of January 2024 and that the acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions. The deal values were not disclosed.
ADM highlighted that FDL expects sales of $120 million in 2023, and has already created more than 10,000 patented flavor combinations.
“Continued investments to expand our flavor portfolio drive the strategic work of building a global nutrition leader,” Calvin McEvoy, president of global flavors at ADM, said in a statement. “FDL's innovative, flexible formulation expertise, deep end-application expertise and strong customer base make it an excellent addition to ADM's global flavor capabilities,” he added.
