noThis is not the first time that netizens have created serious challenges on social networks, which have spread – especially among young people – and culminated in tragedy. The case of this young man, Mason Darke, is another case that joins the list.
According to the newspaper Mirror, the 16-year-old from North Carolina, USA, along with his friends, tried to make an impromptu torch with a paint can and a lighter. Something went wrong in the invention and it ended up exploding.
Mark was seriously injured, disfigured, and had third-degree burns over 80% of his body.
The young man’s mother announced to a local TV channel that her son was “unrecognizable”.
The young man’s mother explained: “They heard a loud bang and Mason started running and taking off his shirt,” indicating that he tried to put out the flames by throwing himself into the river, but his body was already burned.
The minor ended up being urgently sent to the nearest hospital, where he was admitted. He has already undergone several surgical interventions to place skin grafts, which will take time to heal.
The Mirror reports that Manson, who plays soccer and athletics, may have to spend the next six months in the hospital’s burn unit.
