This shot, if confirmed, is the second longest in history
A Ukrainian sniper (“sniper”) will kill a Russian soldier with a bullet at a distance of about three kilometers, according to what was announced by the Armed Forces in Kyiv.
“The accurate sniper fire of our special forces eliminated the occupier at a distance of 2,710 metres,” Ukraine’s Strategic Communications Command wrote in Telegram, along with the video showing the alleged moment of the shooting.
This shot, if confirmed, is the second longest in history, after the one recorded in 2017, in which a Canadian soldier shot down an Islamic State fighter in Iraq from a distance of 3,540 metres. The second place in this ranking belongs to Craig Harrison, of the Cavalry Regiment of the British Armed Forces, when, in 2009, he killed a Taliban in Afghanistan with a shot from a distance of 2475 meters, but may now be taken off by the Ukrainian soldier.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine use the Snipex Alligator for this type of operation. Production of this rifle began in 2020 by Xádo, a Ukrainian company that manufactures weapons, as well as lubricants and additives. The model weighs 25 kilos and is 2 meters long. Its maximum range is seven thousand meters.
