The UK Embassy in Brazil has launched a cultural competition for Brazilian university students. To participate, send a video of up to one minute in English: “Why should I meet my neighbors in the Falkland Islands?”. Videos in Portuguese will not be accepted. The selection criteria is not the technical quality of the material, but the response.
Content must be published on YouTube, Facebook or Vimeo by September 11th and a link to the post sent to an email. [email protected].
The winner’s prize is an all-expense paid visit to the Falkland Islands (transportation, meals and travel insurance). The winner will spend a week with a local family learning about the history, culture and social aspects of the islands.
The result of the Cultural Competition will be announced on the UK Embassy’s social media (@ukinbrazil) on 30th September.
To participate in the contest, you must have a valid passport and proof of enrollment in a higher education institution. In addition, an advanced level of English, the official language of the Falklands, is required.
The trip will take place in January 2023. Apart from Brazil, the tournament is held in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
