Tarantini will not continue to serve the Rio Ave. The revelation was revealed by the 37-year-old midfielder on Wednesday, with a statement that made no secret of his sadness at the departure.
Here is the full version:
“After 13 years of wearing the caravel on my chest, my connection to the Rio Ave Futebol Clube has ended.
One of the saddest moments in the history of Rio Ave and my career was shared with many fans at the end of the last game, and will forever be engraved in my heart, for the support and affection they showed me. After the end of last season, I felt so eager to continue helping Rio Ave on its journey to where the competition deserved.
However, the 37 days of silence that followed said a lot, and 7 days into the season, the head of the Rio Ave Futebol Clube informed me of the decision not to participate in the team selections. Unfortunately, this was not the expected outcome and what I had imagined at all.
The memories of the amazing joy that we celebrate together, remain in the Portuguese League, the European League, the Portuguese Cup, the League Cup and the Super Cup. There were 444 games of hard work, 39 goals, love and achievement, which coincided with the highest moments in Rio Ave history.
I would like to thank RIOAVISTAS and all those who have taken this path with me and who have always supported me.
To Rio Ave I always wish him all the best, and that he quickly return to where he deserves and celebrate in the future the title he so desires.”
