José Guilherme Chiera announced on Monday that he is leaving Sporting, where he has been a scout in prospecting since 2018.
“My relationship with Sporting Clube de Portugal, Futebol SAD has ended after 3 intense and extraordinary years. Grateful for the opportunity to integrate the structure responsible for the club’s recent football achievements, including the much-coveted National Championship after 19 seasons, while emphasizing that important rules have been left to continue to satisfy Sportinguista’s massive cumulative mass.” José Chieira wrote on social media.
The scout also left a word of appreciation for many members of the technical team and beyond: “I leave special words of gratitude and appreciation for Hugo Viana and Rubén Amorim, both of whom are incomparable distance and will happily delight Portuguese football for more than 30 years. … to our comrades Pedro Brandao, Miguel Almeida Ferreira, Eduardo Rosalino and Paulo Gomez for all their charisma in leading the academy. And to all my colleagues from various departments who serve Sporting with enthusiasm, efficiency and humanity. Sporting is truly a different and special club. #mission accomplished.”
