aUS authorities are investigating the disappearance of a $5,800 (4,899 euros) bottle of whiskey that the Japanese government gave two years ago to former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

These offers must be registered, publication confirmed, and placed on file. Officials who receive gifts of significant value may turn them over to the National Archives or other government entity or may purchase them for personal use, and pay the value to the Treasury.
A bottle of Japanese whiskey, valued at $5,800, was shown to Pompeo in June 2019, when he visited the country for the G20 summit, which was also attended by former President Donald Trump. However, unlike with other shows, no record of the bottle’s location has been found.
Representatives for Mike Pompeo did not respond to Guardian requests for comment.
