The United States and the United Kingdom stand alone on the 12th day of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with six and five medals, respectively, in a structure that continues to be led by China, which was on Wednesday with only one silver medal.

A significant jump in the top-10 has come to the UK, which is the fourth country with the highest number of medals overall. The British added two more gold, one silver and two bronze, along with eight additional medals, after attracting attention on Tuesday. With this, England rose from sixth to fourth place, surpassing the Olympic Committee of Russia and Australia.
