U.S.A quarter of UK adults are not accepted for a year or more, thanks to a study by Demos.
One-third (37%) of respondents say they last hugged someone at least six months ago.
More than one in ten (13%) say Britain has not yet spoken to their neighbors or heard about their day half a year ago.
In this study, which evaluated the responses of 1,000 people, one-third (32%) of respondents believe that the chances of forming a relationship are lower compared to the first prison sentence due to Govt-19 last year.
Nearly a quarter (23%) of respondents believe, however, that distrust offers a greater chance of making friends.
Demos warns that there is a “huge risk” of losing the sense of community created by the crisis, which saw volunteers, friends and family providing food and support to vulnerable members.
As for friendship, 64% say they haven’t made a friend in six months and 44% say they haven’t made friends in a year.
